This command is used to delete records in your
files, so use caution while executing it. You will be prompted:
Condition to delete for:
If you want to delete just one - current - record,
choose OK or press Return.
If you want to delete several records matching a particular condition (e.g.,
all records containing 's', or all records
following record 53 etc.), formulate your condition and enter it. All
matching records will be deleted.
There may be cases, when you have to delete ALL
records: just enter ALL as condition.
Deleting records is a risky business - that is why
when you DELETE them, they are not yet physically removed from your file.
To do that you have to choose the Pack option of
the Assist menu. Only when you DELETE a record and
PACK the file, the record is removed permanently.
While the file is not yet PACKed, you may undelete (restore) the re cord
using the Recall command (see
below).
